-ေခြးက မေဟာင္ဘူး ေၾကာင္က မခုတ္ဘူးဆိုလွ်င္ ၀တၱရားပ်က္ကြက္လို႔ လူေတြက
မႀကိဳက္ၾကဘူး။ဆရာ၀တ္ တပည့္၀တ္ မိဘ၀တ္ သားသမီး၀တ္ပ်က္ကြက္လွ်င္
လူေတြက မႀကိဳက္ၾကဘူး။
-If a dog does not bark, and a cat does not catch mice,
they are regarded as not fulfilling their duties. If a person
neglects the responsibilities imposed by his various social
roles such as parent child, teacher/ taught, he will not be
accepted by society.
-ဘုရားကို ရုပ္တုက မကြယ္ေအာင္ တရားကို က်မ္းစာအုပ္က မကြယ္ေအာင္
သံဃာကို ဘုန္းႀကီးက မကြယ္ေအာင္ဥာဏ္မ်က္စိနဲ႕ ၾကည့္ၿပီး ၾကည္ညိဳပါ။
-Let not the image supercede the Buddha.
Let not the scriptures supercede the Dhamma.
Let not the indivedual monks supercede the Sangha
the order of monks). It is up to you to differentiate
and show respect and reverence to the substance
and not the shadow.
-၀ိပႆနာတရား အားထုတ္တဲ့အခါ ယံုၾကည္မႈက မယံုၾကည္မႈကုိ
ႀကိဳးစားမႈက ပ်င္းရိမႈကို ရႈမွတ္မႈက ေမ့ေလ်ာ့မႈကို တည္ၾကည္မႈက ပ်ံ႕လြင့္မႈကို
သိမႈက မသိမႈကို လႊမ္းမိုးနိုင္မွ တရားရမယ္။
-In mindfulness meditation; let faith supplant lack of faith,
let effort supplant sloth or tardiness, let mindfulness supplant
forgetfulness, let integrity supplant wandering mind, let know-
ledge/ insight supplant ignorance. This is the only path to attainment
of spiritual wisdom and insight.
-တရားနာလွ်င္ မနာဖူးေသးေသာ တရားနာၾကားရျခင္း
နာဖူးေသာတရား ရွင္းလင္းစြာသိျခင္း၊ ယံုမွားသံသယ လြန္ေျမာက္ျခင္း။
အယူ ေျဖာင့္မတ္ျခင္း ၊ စိတ္ၾကည္လင္ျခင္း၊ အက်ဴိးငါးမ်ဴိးရနုိင္တယ္။

Listening to a dhamma discourse has fivefold benefits: getting new
dhamma knowledge; more thorough understanding of the dhamma
knowledge already obtained; freedom from heresy and ignorance; the
right thinking; and a happy unclouded mind.
-တရားရတယ္ဆိုတာ အထုပ္ႀကီးရသလို ျပမျဖစ္ဘူး။
တရားသေဘာသိသြားတာကို တရားရတယ္ ေျပာတာ။

-သင့္ေလ်ာ္သည္ကို ျပဳမွ သင့္ေလ်ာ္သည္၌ အတိုင္းအရွည္ကို သိမွ
ေၾကက်က္လြယ္သည့္ အစာကုိစားမွ အခ်ိန္အခါႏွင့္ သြားလာမွ
ျမတ္ေသာအက်င့္ကို က်င့္မွ အသက္ရွည္မယ္။
His life will be blessed with longevity when a person does what is fit
and right, understands the situation he finds himself in, eats easily digestible foods,
follows the dictates of time, and leads a spiritually blameless life.
-ညြန္နစ္ေသာ ဆင္က မိမိကုိယ္ကို ညြန္မွ ထုတ္သလိုကိေလသာညြန္မွ မိမိကိုယ္ကို
ထုတ္ေဆာင္ရတယ္။
-An elephant uses his strength to move out of the mire.
A person needs his spiritual strength to move himself out
of the mire of worldly desires (kilesa).
-ဇနီေမာင္ႏွံ ႏွစ္ဦး ယံုၾကည္မႈ သဒၶါ၊ ကိုယ္က်င့္သီလ၊စြန္႔ႀကဲမႈစာဂ
သိမႈပညာ ၊ အညီအမွ်ရွိလွ်င္ ယခုဘ၀မွာလည္း ခ်စ္ခ်စ္ခင္ခင္
ေနာင္ဘ၀မွာ လည္း ျပန္လည္ဆံုေတြ႕နုိင္ၾကတယ္။
-If a husband and wife team are equal in their faith, morality, generous
giviing and knowledge, they will enjoy a harmonious union in this life.
They have a fair chance to be husband and wife in the next existence.
-တစ္ယူသန္ အစြဲႀကီးတဲ့သူဟာ ဘုရားခၽြတ္ေတာင္ မကၽြတ္ဘူး။
-Even Lord Buddha will not be able to detach a bigoted
person from his wrong beliefs.
-စိုက္ပ်ူဴးိေရးလုပ္တဲ့အခါ လယ္ယာေျပက ေကာင္းလွ်င္
မ်ဴိးေကာင္းမ်ဴိးသန္႔ကို စိုက္ပ်ဴိးလွ်င္ မိုးဦး၊မိုးလယ္၊ မိုးေႏွာင္း
မိုးသံုးမ်ဴးိအဆင္ေျပလွ်င္ အသီးအႏွံေတြ အမ်ားႀကီးရမယ္။
-A fertile land, planted with good and healthy seeds, and blessed
by regular and favourable erly,mid and late monsoon raims,
will give off a good yield.
-အလွဴဒါန ျပဳတဲ့အခါ အလွဴခံပုဂၢိဳလ္က သီလရွိလွ်င္
သန္႔ရွင္းစင္ၾကယ္စြာရတဲ့ ပစၥည္းလွဴလွ်င္ ေစတနာသံုးတန္ ထက္သန္လွ်င္
ဒါနရဲ႕အက်ဴိးေတြ အမ်ားႀကီးရမယ္။
-When giving alms, it is essential to have a morally pure person as the
recipient, the offerings being obtained by honest means, and the three
kinds of cetana (generous spirit arising before during and after the
performance of the deed). An act of alms-giving will yield immeasurable
benefits when attended by the above requisites.
-ဒါနျပဳ သီလေဆာက္တည္၍ ကံလမ္းမွသြားလွ်င္ လူ႔ျပည္နတ္ျပည္ ေရာက္မယ္
သမထ ဘာ၀နာပြား၍ စ်ာန္လမ္းမွ သြားလွ်င္ ျဗဟၼာ့ျပည္ ေရာက္မယ္။
၀ိပႆနာဘ၀နာပြား၍ ဥာဏ္လမ္းမွ သြားလွ်င္ နိဗၺာန္ေရာက္မယ္။
-Acts of dana and sila (giving freely and living a moral life)will plut you on
kamma road to auspicious planes of existence, such as humman world and
celestial abodes. Samatha bhavana (strict concentration) will put you on
jana road (high level of spiritual power)to higher celestial planes like Brahma
abodes. Vipassana bhavana (mindfulness meditation) will put you on
nana road (wisdom) to Nibbana (Cessation of suffering).
-အိမ္ကို ကေခ်ာ္ကခၽြတ္ မိုးထားလွ်င္ မိုးေရေဖာက္၀င္နုိ္င္သလို စိတ္ကို သမထ ၀ိပႆနာျဖင့္ မပြားလွ်င္ ရာဂေတြ ေဖာက္၀င္နိုင္တယ္။
-A haphazardly put up roof cannot stop the rains from leaking in. A mind,not
conditioned by strict concentration and mindful vipassana practice will be
assailed by such cravings as lust.
-အိမ္မီးေလာင္ေတာ့ ပစၥည္းကိုလည္း ဆြဲထုတ္၊ မီးကိုလည္းၿငိမ္းရတယ္၊
ခႏၶာအိ္မ္မီး(၁၁ မီး)ေလာင္ေတာ့ ဒါနျပဳၿပီး ဆြဲထုတ္၊
တရားရႈၿပီး ၿငိမ္းရတယ္။
-When a house is on fire, one needs to salvage possessions as well as put out
the fire. When your body and mind is consumed by 11 types of kilesa fire
(enemies)-only dana can salvage what is left and the fires within you can only
be extinguished by mindful meditation.
-ေယာက္မက အရသာ အသိသလို လူမိုက္က ပညာရွိနဲ႕ေပါင္းေပမယ့္
တရားမသိဘူး။
-The wooden spoon does not know the taste of food. A foolish ignorant
person does not realize the bliss of Dhamma even though he has a wise
and enlightened person at his side.
-လွ်ာက အရသာ သိသလို လိမၼာသူက ပညာရိွနဲ႔ ခစေပါင္းရံုနဲ႕ တရားသိတယ္။
-The tongue knows the taste of food. A good, worthy person konws the peace
given by Dhamma just by a brief association with an enlightened sage.
-သာသနိက အေဆာက္အအံုႀကီးေတြ ၾကည့္ၿပီး သာသနာတိုးတက္တယ္ မေျပာနဲ႕။
သီလ၊သမာဓိ၊ပညာ အက်င့္တိုးတက္မွ သာသနာ တိုးတက္တာ။
-It is not the grandness of religious structures that determines the level of
development of the sasana. The practice of sila samadhi and panna
provides the real foundation of Buddha sasana.
ႏြားေကာင္း မေကာင္း သိခ်င္ရင္ ေမာင္းၾကည့္။ရြာေကာင္းမေကာင္း သိခ်င္ရင္ ေက်ာင္းၾကည့္။
လူေကာင္းမေကာင္း သိခ်င္ရင္ ေပါင္းၾကည့္။
-Drive the ox to find out whether it will work well. Look at the monastery
to find out what kind of village harbours it. Associate with a person to find
out his true nature.
-ဘဒၵကမၻာမွာ ဘုရားေလးဆူ ပြင့္ၿပီးလို႔ကၽြတ္တမ္း၀င္ၾကတဲ့ အထဲ
ကိုယ္မပါတာ ကုသိုလ္နည္းလို႔ပါ။
-Having been excluded from the list of people who enjoyed liberation from
samsara during the sasana of the four Enlightened . Ones belonging to this
Five Buddha world, it is obvious that we do not have enough kusala punna (merits
from good, wholesome acts).
-ေလးသမားသည္ ျမားကို ေျဖာင့္ေအာင္ျပဳသလို ပညာရွိသည္ စိတ္ကို
ေျဖာင့္ေအာင္ျပဳသင့္တယ္။
-The archer takes care to make his arrows straight; a wise person
takes care to purify his mind.
-ထင္ေပၚဖို႔က ပဓာန မဟုတ္ဘူး ကုသိုလ္ရဖို႔က ပဓာနပဲ။
-The aim of giving alms should not be for recognition and applause.
It should be for accruing merits.
-သာသနာ့အက်ဴိးေဆာင္ဆိုတာ သာသနာေတာ္အတြက္ အက်ဴိးမ်ားေအာင္
ေဆာင္ရြက္ရတယ္။ ကိုယ့္အတြက္ တြက္ေျခကိုက္ေအာင္လုပ္လွ်င္
ကိုယ္က်ဴိးေဆာင္ျဖစ္မယ္။
-If one's actions assist in spreading the word of the Buddha in a concrete way,
then he is a true protector of the sasana While claiming to work for the
sasana promulgation, feathering one,s own nest will turn a person into an
egoistic hypocrite.
-အကုိသိုလ္အထုတ္ ထမ္းၿပီး မေကာငး္တဲ့လမ္း မသြားခ်င္နဲ႕
ကုသိုလ္အထတ္ ထမ္းၿပီး ေကာင္းတဲ့လမ္းကိုသြားပါ။
-Don't take the wrong path, shouldering akusala deserts. Take the right
path, shouldering kusala merits.
အလွဴခံပုဂၢိဳလ္ရဲ႕ ဆက္ဆံေရးကို မၾကည့္နဲ႕သီလ၊သမာဓိ၊ ပညာကို ၾကည့္။
-Don't be sidetracked by the lack of social grace of the person receiving
your alms. Focus on his morality, integrity and insightful wisdom. (sila,
samadha, panna).
-အလွဴခံပုဂၢိဳလ္ကရာဂ၊ ေဒါသ၊ ေမာဟ ကင္းတဲ့ ပုဂၢိဳလ္ (သို႔မဟုတ္)
ကင္ေအာင္ က်င့္ေနတဲ့ ပုဂၢိဳလ္ျဖစ္လွ်င္ အလွဴရွင္က
ေစတနာသံုးတန္ ထက္သန္လွ်င္ဒါနရဲ႕ အက်ဳိးေတြ အမ်ားႀကီး ရနုိင္တယ္။
-Provided that the recipient of alms giving is one who has already been able
to renounce the three defilements greed, anger and delusion, or one who
is striving hard to be such a pure being, and provided that the giving of alms the
attended by three types of cetana, the kusala merits will quantify accordingly.
-ထင္ေပၚေအာင္ အာရံုျပဳမလွဴနဲ႕။နိဗၺာန္ရေအာင္ အာရံုျပဳလွဴ။
-The aim of alms-giving should be to accrue merits to smooth our path to the
truly blissful state of Nibbana and not to display wealth or be ostentatious.
-ေရထဲကငါး ကုန္းေပၚထားေတာ့ တဖ်ပ္ဖ်ပ္ တုန္လႈပ္သလို
ကမၼ႒ာန္းရႈေသာစိတ္က ဟုိေတြး ဒီေတြး ေတြးတတ္တယ္။
နုိင္ေအာင္ထိန္းပါ။
-A fish out of water and on land will jump ceaselessly. Likewise.when one tries
to meditate, the mind will leap from one thought to another. It is crucial to
control this wandering.
-ကိုယ္ရႈမွတ္တဲ့တရား ေလွ်ာက္ထားတဲ့အခါ စာသိ နာသိ ကို မေလွ်ာက္ပါနဲ႕
ရႈသိကို စာသံေပသံမပါဘဲ ျမန္မာလို ရွင္းရွင္းေလးေလွ်ာက္ပါ။
-Be careful to recount your genuine meditation experiences to your
kammathana cariya (meditation instructor)in simple lay terms. Do not
attempt to use terms and words that you have read or heard of.
ကံေလးေကာင္းတုန္း ေျမာက္ႂကြားႁကြား မလုပ္န႔ဲ
ေနာက္ပိုင္းဘယ္လို ဘ၀နဲ႔ ဇာတ္သိမ္းမယ္ မသိဘူး။
-Do not ever be arrogant and haughty when you are enjoying good fortune.
One cannot know ahead how long one's good fortune will last and how
one is going to end up in life.
-ဘယ္ဌာနမွာ ပဲျဖစ္ျဖစ္ လူကို မၾကည့္နဲ႔ မူကိုၾကည့္။
-Where one goes, be sure to focus on principles and not on people.
-ရဟန္းေတာ္မ်ား အာပတ္သင့္တာ ေျပာမေနနဲ႔။
ရဟန္းမဟုတ္လွ်င္ အာပတ္က မသင့္ေတာ့ဘူး။
-If a monk is guilty of breaking rules of the Sangha (vinaya) then he is no
longer a member of this sacred order.
-လူျဖစ္ရျခင္း၊ အသက္ရွင္ျခင္း၊ သူေတာ္ေကာင္းတရား နာၾကားရျခင္း။ ဘုရားပြင့္ျခင္း ဆိုတာ
ခဲယဥ္းတယ္။ ေတြႀကံဳတဲ့အခိုက္ အက်ဳိးရွိေအာင္ ေနပါ။
-Being born as a human being; being able to hear and heed good religious
advice; and the Buddha attaining Enlightenment; these are all instances of
great good fortune. It is important to realize it and live life to benefit from
this olden opportunity.
-ေဆြမ်ဳိးပ်က္ စီးပြားပ်က္ ေရာဂါႏိွပ္စက္မႈ ဟုေသာ ပ်က္စီးျခင္းေၾကာင့္ ငရဲမက်ဘူး။
သီလပ်က္ အယူပ်က္လွ်င္ ငရဲက်မယ္။
-Death of loved ones, financial loss or disease cannot lead us to hell(apaya).
Only if we are immoral or embrace wrong thinking that such a fate awaits.
-တရားရႈမွတ္တဲ့အခါ ထိုင္နိုင္ဖို႔ထက္ မွတ္နိုင္ဖိုပက ပိုအေရးႀကီးတယ္။
-It is more important to apply your mind to the task of meditation than to
be able to spend long periods of time at meditation.
-စီးပြားရွာတဲ့အခါ- အတိတ္အနာဂါတ္ ပစၥဳပၸန္ ၃ မ်ဳးိလံုးကိုၾကည့္။
တရားရွာတဲ့အခါ ပစၥုဳပၸန္တည့္တည့္ ၾကည့္။
-When doing business, one has to take into account the past and the future,
and not just the present. When one is concerned with religious, truths, it is
better to concentrate only on the present.
-သဒၵၶါ ၊ သီလ ၊ သမာဓိ ၊ ပညာေလမ်ဳိးျဖင့္ နိဗၺာန္ခရီးသြားေနတဲ့ ပုဂၢိဳလ္မ်ားလည္း
၀ိပႆနာပညာ ယုတ္ေလ်ာ့ေနလွ်င္ နိဗၺာန္မေရာက္နုိင္ဘူး။
-Those beings bent on following the path to Nibbana need to be equipped with
faith, morality, concentration power, insightful wisdom(saddha,sila, samadhi,panna)
the four essentials of right living, If insightful wisdom (meditation practice) is
missing,it is not possible to attain Nibbana.
-သဒၶါနဲ႕ပညာ ၀ီရိယနဲ႔သမာဓိ၊ လိုတာပိုတာ ရွိခ်င္ရိွမယ္၊
သတိကေတာ့ လိုတာသာရွိတယ္ ပိုတာမရွိဘူး။
-Faith and knowledge (saddha, panna), perseverance and concentration
(viriya and samadhi), people can have more or less of these four than needed.
However mindfulness (sati) is the only ingredient that will always be needed
and never be regarded as excess.
-ေထရ၀ါဒ ဗုဒၶဘာသာနဲ႔ မသင့္ေတာ္တာေတြ ျပဳလုပ္တဲ့ပုဂၢိဳလ္ကို
သံဃာေတာ္မ်ားက ကန္႔ကြက္တဲ့အခါ လူေတြက မနာလိုလို႔ဟု
ေျပာၾကတယ္။
-The sangha needs to criticize and raise objections to those who
go against Theravada principles.
-ဆန္ျပဳတ္လွဴလွ်င္ ထမင္းငတ္တာ ေရငတ္တာ
ေလရာဂါ ဆီးေရာဂါ အစာအိမမေရာဂါေတြ မျဖစ္ပါဘူး။
-The benefits of offering gruel / porridge deliverance from starvation,
thirst,colic, urinary and stomach problems.
-တရားထုိင္တာ ၁-နာရီ၊ ေတြးေနတာက မိနစ္ ၆၀ ဆိုေတာ့
ေညာင္းတာပဲ အဖတ္တင္တယ္။
-During a one-hour stint of meditation, if one lets his thoughts to
wander for 60minutes, the result will be just a feling of weariness
from sitting so long.
-အကပ္ခံၿပိးေသာ အစာကို ရဟန္းက အာလယျပတ္ မစြန္႔ေသးလွ်င္
လူသာမေဏတို႔က ကိုင္ေသာ္လည္း အကပ္မပ်က္ပါဘူး။
-Once food is offered and touched by the monds, it is still
possible for monks to eat it even if lay people might touch
the food.
-ကိုယ္နဲ႔ မတည့္တိုင္း ထင္ရာေလွ်ာက္မေျပာနဲ႔။ဘုရားေတာင္မွ ၀စီကံ၀ိပါက္ ၅ မ်ဳိးခံရတယ္။
-Don't talk ill of those you are not on good terms with.Even Lord
Buddha cannot escape the retributory results of 5 types of vacikamma.
(verbal transgressions).
-၀ိပႆနာတရား မရႈမွတ္လွ်င္ ကိေလသာ၀ဋ္ ၊ကမၼ၀ဋ္ ၊ ၀ိပါက၀ဋ္၊
၀ဋ္သံုးပါးလည္ၿပီး ဘ၀ဆက္တိုင္း ဒုကၡေတြ ေတြ႕ႀကဳံေနရမွာပဲ။
- Without the delivering merits of meditation practice, one will go through
the cycle of rebirths, assailed by suffering in each and every existence.
-ယံုၾကည္မႈ၊ က်န္းမာမႈ ၊ စိတ္ထားေျဖာင့္မွတ္မႈ ၊ ႀကိဳးစားမႈ၊ ျဖစ္ပ်က္ ျမင္မႈ ရွိမွ မဂ္ဖိုလ္နိဗၺာန္ရမယ္။
-Faith, health. integrity, industry and insightful knowledge of the
impermanence of life-these will put you on the path to attainment
of magga phala Nibbana.
-သားသမီးက်င့္၀တ္ငါးပါးႏွင့္အညီ မိဘေက်းဇူးဆပ္ျခင္းထက္
သဒၶါ ၊ သီလ ၊ စာဂ ၊ ပညာနဲ႔ ျပည့္စံုေအာင္ ကူညီေစာင့္ေရွာက္တာက
ပိုၿပိး ေက်းဇးဆပ္ရာေရာက္တယ္။
-In showing gratitude to your paarents. it is of greater benefit to help them
attain firm faith, moral living, generosity in spirit, and knowledge than just
fulfilling the filial obligations.
-ငယ္ရြယ္တုန္း က်န္းမာတုန္း။ ဆြမ္းရလြယ္တုန္း၊ တိုင္းျပည္ေအးခ်မ္းတုန္း၊
သံဃာညီညြတ္ေနတုန္း တရားအားထုတ္ရတာ အေကာင္းဆံုးပဲ။
-Youth, health. food obtained easily, peace in the land, clergy in
agreement these are all conducive to meditation work.
-အတိတ္ဘ၀မ်ားက ျပဳလုပ္ခဲ့ေသာ ကုသိုလ္ပါရမီရွိလွ်င္
က်န္းမာေရးႏွင့္ ျပည့္စုံလွ်င္ ရႈနည္းမွတ္နည္း မွန္ကန္လွ်င္
တရားျမန္ျမန္ရမယ္။
-Past merits, coupled with good health and the right method of
meditation will help one attain insights more quickly.
-ဘုန္းႀကီးကို ရုပ္ေသးၾကည့္သလို မနီးမေ၀းက ၾကည့္ၿပီး ၾကည္ညိဳရတယ္။
-It is best to show reverence to the monks from a place not too
near nor too far.
-ေက်ာက္မွျဖစ္ေသာ စိန္သည္ ေက်ာက္ကို ထြင္းေဖာက္ ဖ်က္ဆီးသလို
ကိုယ္ျပဳတဲ့ မေကာင္းမႈက ကိုယ့္ျပန္ ဖ်က္ဆီးတယ္။
-It is only your own unwholesome akusala acts which can
bring destruction upon yourself.
-ကိုယ္က မွန္ေပမဲ့ ၀ဋ္ေက်ြးရွိက ခံရတာပဲ။
-No one can escape retribution; regardless of how pure you
are now, misfortune can claim you.
-လူေသျခင္း၊ ပန္းကန္ကြဲျခင္း စတဲ့ ပညတ္အနိစၥ သိရံုနဲ႔ နိဗၺာန္မရဘူး။
ရုပ္နာမ္တို႔၏ ျဖစ္ျခင္း ပ်က္ျခင္း ပရမတ္ အနိစၥသိမွ နိဗၺာန္ရမယ္။
-Death of a person, china plate being broken-these constitute superficial,
trivial pannatti knowledge ot the impermanence, Only if one has
experienced and have insightful paramattha knowledge of impermanence
as the arising and dissolving of mind and matter (nama, rupa)that one
is headed in the right direction to wards the true bliss of Nibbana.
-လူ႔ဘ၀ နတ္ဘ၀တို႔၌ ဒါနျပဳသူက ဒါနမျပဴသူကို
အသက္ရွည္ျခင္း၊ အဆင္းလွျခင္း၊ ခ်မ္းသာမ်ားျခင္း၊ အေျခြအရံေပါမ်ားျခင္း၊
အစိုးရျခင္းျဖင့္ သာလြန္ လြမ္းမိုးနိုင္တယ္။
-In the world of humans as well as in celestial abodes, those that are
blessed with longevity, beauty, multitude of friends and well - wishers
are the ones who have been generous in their alms giving.
